Online communication is the reflection on who you are. Its reveal and shows your attitude, whether it is bad or good. This is tips for good online communication:
A person should begin by introducing themselves. They should not, for example, send a letter and end it by saying, “oh, by the way, my name is so-and-so”. Start by saying hello and telling the person your first name. It is best to not ramble on about yourself.
Your letter should always end with a question before you say goodbye. If you do not, they will have trouble thinking of what to say in a reply. If you enter one or two questions, this will prompt the person to respond back to you. Online communications that include typos are not well received. The typos stick out like a sore thumb and will not make a good impression. Typos are the characteristics of someone who is sloppy and uneducated. Ask any questions that you feel are important in order to get to know that person. Of course, do not ask any sexual or rude question; that is one sure-fire way to not receive a reply back. Try to not use a lot of abbreviations, as others may not be familiar with the same ones you use. Try to not let a long lag occur between replies, as the other person may suspect you are not very interested. Good online communication is essential in order to build a good relationship, reputation and avoiding conflict.

History of online communication

Nearly all of the communication networks only allow communications between the stations on the local network and it based on the central mainframe computer model before the introduction of internetworking. The development of the packet switching is due to variety of research programs on the articulate principles of networking between physically separate networks. Donald Davies (NPL), Paul Baran (RAND Corporation), and Leonard Kleinrock at MIT and at UCLA are the one who involved in this research. Several packet-switched networking solutions in the late 1960s and 1970s, including ARPANET and the X.25 protocols have been produced introduced due to the research. In addition, the unix-to-unix copy (UUCP) and FidoNet( the public access and hobbyist networking systems) have been widely use and popular but they were however still disjointed separate networks, served only by limited gateways between networks. Application of packet switching will happen to develop a protocol for internetworking, where multiple different networks could be joined together into a super-framework of networks. The idea of a global network that would be called the Internet, based on standardized protocols officially implemented began to form based on the general protocols officially use in 1982. The Internet has had a drastic impact on culture and commerce because of the commercialization and introduction of privately run Internet service providers in the 1980s, and the Internet's expansion for popular use in the 1990s.
